ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) is the material of choice for outdoor parts, high-temperature environments, and UV-exposed applications. It resists weathering that would degrade PLA within months and warp PETG in direct sunlight.

When to Choose ASA
- Outdoor enclosures, mounts, and fixtures
- Automotive interior parts (dashboard, console)
- Parts near heat sources (electronics enclosures, light fixtures)
- Garden and agricultural tools
- Signage and outdoor displays
Printing ASA
ASA requires higher temperatures than PLA:
- Nozzle: 240-260°C
- Bed: 90-110°C
- Enclosure recommended (prevents warping and cracking)
ASA emits styrene vapors during printing — print in a well-ventilated area or use an enclosed printer with carbon filtration.
Storage
ASA absorbs less moisture than PETG but should still be stored in sealed bags with desiccant. Dry at 70-80°C for 4-6 hours if needed.
