Prototyping before the edition uses a base-grade PLA from the same factory — same laser-measured ±0.03mm tolerance, so the validated profile transfers to the edition spools without re-tuning.

Implementation Steps

  1. Approve the sample first. Print the master figurine on the edition spool itself — gloss and tone are batch properties, not printer settings.
  2. Print the full edition from one lot. Color-locked production lots with documented deviation keep every piece in the run matching the approved master.
  3. Slow the print for the finish. The recommended window is 190-220°C nozzle, 50-70°C bed, printed slightly slower (30-50mm/s) to keep the silky surface clean.
  4. Validate feed on a 4-hour run before committing the edition — machine-wound, tension-controlled spools should feed without breaks.
  5. Store unused spools sealed. Vacuum bags with desiccant keep the remaining stock batch-true for the next edition.
